I’m a coach’s wife, mom, Gigi, and longtime resident of the Friday night stands. For more than two decades, football has been woven into the story of our family—the moves, the wins, the losses, the friendships, the hard seasons and some of our very best memories.

Somewhere along the way, I realized the stories I wanted to tell weren’t really about football at all. They were about the people behind it.

In the Trenches is a place for those stories—the ones about family, faith, coaching life, community, relationships and everything that happens beyond the scoreboard.

Some will be funny. Some will be hard. Some may simply be thoughts from a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee in my hand.

But they’ll be real.
